“Sculpt Across America” is Karen Cope’s Journey to awaken the love of Sculpture and Joy of Sculpting in Americans hearts and lives. Figurative Art is sweeping the nation and Karen sets out on The Ultimate Sculpting Road Trip through the heartland of America teaching sculpting workshops, demonstrating techniques, lecturing and emphasizing how art and sculpture plays a major role in all our lives. Karen looks forward to connecting with all kinds of Sculptors and their Art Communities. Why do This?
These are some hard economic times here in America and its time to Reconnect with our Creative side and nurture our Imaginations to forward this great nation. Clay is an amazing medium that takes people away from their worries and draws them into a world of creativity. Just a little glob of clay has the ability to bring such joy. It’s all worth it when someone who hasn’t touched clay since the 2nd grade, smiles and the inner child of a 70 year old comes alive! ~ Now that’s the magic of Clay ~
Where and How?
Sculpting Workshops can be held in Art Centers, Academies, Galleries, Artists Studios, Barns, and even in Parks if weather permits(sculpting outdoors is such a joy). If you'd like Karen to teach a workshop in your town, go to the Travel Map and check the dates she will be in or near your town. Then send Karen an email that includes your name (the organizer) the preferred location and dates and times and what you'd like her to teach (Portrait Sculpture, Figure, Quicksketch, Torso or Relief etc...). Karen will lock in your dates on the map and on the Facebook Notes page and will confirm the workshop once 8 students have signed up and prepaid.
Workshop Requirements
Each workshop requires a minimum of 8 prepaid students(by paypal minimum 1month prior to the workshop)and maximum of around 15 students(depending on sculpture stands available). Workshops are usually 2day, 3day or 5day events from 10am-4pm with a 1 hour lunch break. Those who host a workshop will be compensated a percentage of the Profits usually 20%-30% after model costs are deducted(all other expenses needs to be approved prior in writing; ie advertizing etc...) . Due to the intensity of organizing this many workshops, there will be no refunds for workshop deposits or workshop fees if you cannot attend or cancel. If a workshop is cancelled then your fee will be refunded. Karen will accept as many sculpting opportunities as possible in towns along her journey from LA to DC and back again and looks forward to connecting to Sculptors and art enthusiasts across the nation.
NOTE: Karen is also pursing Corporate Sponsorships, if you're interested or know someone who may be interested in sponsoring Karen in "Sculpt Across America" email her at figurativesculptor@hotmail.com for more information. Thank You~

dear Karen: one of those days, after the Sculpt Across America, you must come for a Sculpt Across Europe, and after an Sculpt Across Africa, and start in Egipt, to end in a Sculpt Across Asia and Japon. Please, think about that.
